Training a team

How to run it

1. Send your team the link, learn.nexusitservices.org. No accounts are needed.
2. Ask everyone to finish within a week. The course takes about 30 minutes, and people can stop and pick it up later on the same browser.
3. Ask each person to use the button on the certificate page to send their result to us, or to give you the printed certificate.
4. If you are a Nexus IT client, ask us to assign the course in the client portal instead. Each person signs in, and we can see who has finished and send reminders.
5. Hold a ten minute chat afterward. Ask each person to share one suspicious message they have seen.

Ideas for the team chat

• Look at one real message from someone's inbox, with the private parts hidden, and find the warning signs together.
• Agree on a payment rule, such as a phone call to a known number and a second person for any change to payment details.
• Agree how to report. For example, forward to one address, or tell one person, so nobody wonders.
• Say out loud that reporting is welcome and nobody is blamed.

Keep it going

One course does not make anyone safe for good. A short reminder every few months works better than a long session once a year. The printable checklist is a good thing to pin up.
